About the Recipe

This dish earns its gut loving title thanks to the ingredients that support a healthy digestive system:
* Sauerkraut: A powerhouse of probiotics that promote a healthy gut microbiome

* Ginger & Garlic: Known for their anti-inflammatory and gut soothing properties

* Veggies (Carrot, Radish, Cherry Tomatoes): Packed with fibre to fuel beneficial gut bacteria

Plus, the clean, gluten free tamari and healthy fats from sesame oil keep it light and easy to digest.

Ingredients

  • 200g chicken breast

  • 1/2 packet cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 medium carrot, julienned

  • 2 tbsp sauerkraut

  • 1/4 cup radish, finely sliced

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • 2 tbsp shallots, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp sesame oil, for cooking

DRESSING:

  • 1 tbsp tamari

  • 1/2 tbsp honey

  • 1/4 tbsp ginger, minced

  • 1 small garlic clove, minced

  • A pinch of chilli powder

Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together tamari, honey, minced ginger, garlic, and chilli powder.

Step 2

Add the sliced chicken breast to the marinade, ensuring it's well coated. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to soak up the flavours.

Step 3

While the chicken marinates, prep the cherry tomatoes, carrot, radish, and sauerkraut so they’re ready to assemble.

Step 4

Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked through.

Step 5

In a serving bowl, arrange the cooked chicken on one side. Add the cherry tomatoes, carrot, radish, and sauerkraut around the bowl.

Step 6

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped shallots over the top for a flavourful finish.
