About the Recipe

Ingredients
8 dates, roughly chopped
3/4 cup cacao powder
400g black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 tbsp flaxseeds, ground
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp beet powder
1/4 tsp celtic salt
1/2 cup dark choc chips
Preparation
Step 1
Pre-heat oven to 180ºC. Line a brownie tray with a silicone sheet.
Step 2
Soak the dates for 10 minutes in hot water. Drain the dates.
Step 3
To a food processor, add dates, cocoa powder and pulse until dates have been broken down.
Step 4
Add the black beans, coconut milk, flaxseeds, vanilla, baking powder, beetroot powder and salt. Pulse until well combined into a batter.
Step 5
Add the choc chips and mix in with a mixing spoon.
Step 6
Add the mixture to the prepared brownie tray.
Step 7
Bake for roughly 35 minutes.
Note: For the dense brownie consistency, once cooled down, place in the fridge for 2 hours.
